We’re excited to share our latest biodiverse and socially impactful project! We’ve acquired 188 hectares of abandoned land in the village of Cidadelhe in Portugal. With 100 hectares dedicated to agroforestry and the remaining 88 hectares afforested to make the whole region more climate-resilient and ensure long-term carbon storage.
By purchasing our high-quality carbon credits, you can help combat desertification, promote environmental regeneration, and support employment opportunities for the residents of Cidadelhe. Join us in our mission to create a more biodiverse future while supporting rural communities. Buy our carbon credits today and make a positive impact on both the environment and society!
Afforestation is the climate friendliest way to sequester CO2, with high levels of CO2 sequestration and oxygen production. Combining it with Regenerative Agroforestry creates numerous benefits in food production and nature conservation. Both rapidly sequesters carbon in biomass and the soil.
Afforestation creates water, holds water in the soil, prevents erosion and regenerates the soil. Adding regenerative agroforestry also provides food and more jobs. Trees only have to be planted once for the next 60 to 400 years. If we make sure some of these trees provide food and other benefits we can afford to maintain our role as caretakers of this land for generations.
Scave’s carbon strategy is based on the syntropic agroforestry. The soil of the Portugal sites has a high potential for storing carbon. The baseline data of the soil points out that at start it had a low amount of Carbon.
What makes this site unique is that on the Iberian Peninsula we are fighting desertification and so far the desert is winning. We’re working every day to make our little part of the frontier against this process survive. Buying our carbon removal credits will allow us to scale and continue this work.
About The Remover
The carbon is removed by Scave.World (Scave.world B.V), with head office in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Scave.world is in the business of installing and operating reforestation and agroforestry projects in Europe, as well as selling the nuts, grains, and legumes that are produced by these systems. The consumption of nuts across the globe is on the rise.
