Land Stored Carbon

We’re excited to introduce our latest reforestation project — a powerful blend of ecological restoration and social impact. We’ve secured 188 hectares of degraded land in the village of Cidadelhe, Portugal. Of this, 88 hectares will be restored through large-scale reforestation, while the remaining 100 hectares will support regenerative land use systems to improve local resilience and biodiversity.

By purchasing our high-integrity carbon credits, you directly contribute to reversing land degradation, enhancing carbon sequestration, and creating meaningful job opportunities for the residents of Cidadelhe. Join us in restoring forests that will stand for generations — and help build a future that’s both climate-resilient and community-driven.

Reforestation is one of the most effective natural climate solutions. It locks away carbon in both trees and soils, restores natural water cycles, prevents erosion, and rebuilds healthy ecosystems. Forests also create habitat for native wildlife and regenerate the land’s ability to sustain itself over time.

At Scave, our carbon strategy focuses on long-term restoration. The soils in this region have high carbon storage potential but started from a low-carbon baseline. With targeted reforestation techniques and careful species selection, we aim to maximize ecological recovery while ensuring durable carbon removal.

What makes this site especially critical is its location on the frontlines of desertification in the Iberian Peninsula — an area where the climate crisis is advancing fast. Our reforestation work pushes back against this trend, transforming abandoned land into thriving ecosystems. Purchasing our carbon credits enables us to scale these efforts and safeguard this vulnerable landscape for the future.

About The Remover

The carbon is removed by Scave.World (Scave.world B.V), with head office in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Scave.world is in the business of installing and operating reforestation and agroforestry projects in Europe, as well as selling the nuts, grains, and legumes that are produced by these systems. The consumption of nuts across the globe is on the rise.
